Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Travel Agent to join our team on a temporary basis, with the opportunity to transition into a full-time role. In this position, you will be responsible for providing exceptional travel-related services to our local and remote staff and consultants.

**Compensation and Benefits:

- Competitive hourly rate of $27.88 (equivalent to $58,000 annually)
- Comprehensive benefits package upon hire as a full-time employee

**Job Overview:

Our organization is a federally funded, non-profit entity dedicated to supporting educational programs for children in underprivileged areas across the United States. As the Travel Agent, you will report directly to the Operations Manager and primarily work remotely, with occasional in-office meetings (approximately once per month) in Denver, CO. All necessary equipment will be provided.


Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (30-minute unpaid meal break)


- Consult various sources, including published materials and online resources, to analyze and evaluate travel options, such as flight times, routes, fares, car rentals, accommodations, and discount programs.
- Prepare tentative travel plans and suitable alternatives, obtaining proper approvals to finalize arrangements.
- Utilize a computerized reservation system to book transportation, hotel accommodations, car rentals, and issue detailed itineraries.
- Serve as a knowledgeable resource for travelers, researching and resolving any issues or problems that may arise.
- Adhere to and communicate the company's Travel & Expense Policy to ensure compliance.
- Coordinate group travel arrangements, including flights, hotels, and shared transportation.
- Secure meeting spaces for group training or other business-related events and activities, conducting destination research and negotiating contracts with hotels or venues.
- Manage and produce required travel reporting for government contracts, monitor travel and cost trends, and collaborate with senior leadership to minimize expenses.
- Ensure all duties are accomplished in accordance with airline and ARC (Airlines Reporting Corporation) rules and standards.
- Support key organizational and team priorities as a member of the Operations Team.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned to contribute to the successful operation of the organization.


- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar Corporate Travel Agent role (preferred).
- Strong proficiency and prior experience using the Sabre GDS System (strongly preferred).
- International travel booking experience is a plus.
- High school diploma required; two years of post-high school education preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Comprehensive working knowledge of the travel business.
- Ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative, and act as a self-starter.
- Excellent teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate proactively, resourcefully, cooperatively, and respectfully.
- Exceptional organizational and time management capabilities.
- Strong attention to detail and outstanding customer service skills.
- Analytical and problem-solving aptitude.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with short lead times.
