Summary of Responsibilities
- Develops and maintains the UVU Institutional Advancement portfolio management system, including partnering with the UVU Major Gift team on developing strategic plans for current and future prospects.
- Completes proactive and reactive prospect research including compiling prospect research profiles, data analysis/data modeling projects, and research lists based on the University's fundraising strategies and priorities.
- Manages and leads all prospect development team members and ensuring effective budget and resource management of all prospect development software and resources.
- Partners with other Advancement Services leadership in ensuring that the CRM database can effectively track alumni information, identify fundraising opportunities, and accurately represent the portfolio management system.
- Provides reporting on portfolio management metrics for the Institutional Advancement leadership.
Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications
Bachelor's degree in related field plus two years of related experiences or combination of education and experiences equal to or exceeding seven years of directly related experience.
Preferred Qualifications Nine years total education and experience is preferred. 2 years of experience managing an established prospect and portfolio management system. Experience with a comprehensive fundraising campaign. Experience in successful development prospect research in higher education or other large national nonprofit fundraising organization is strongly preferred.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Knowledge
- Knowledge of prospect development methodologies, including an understanding of Utah region specific prospect research and fundraising strategies
- Knowledge of prospect research in a development office and fundraising environment
- Knowledge of prospect data analysis, data modeling, wealth indicators, and giving capacity scoring
- Knowledge of private and public company evaluations
- Knowledge of web based research, procedures, and techniques
- Knowledge and extensive experience in a relational CRM database
- Knowledge of data reporting and querying
- Knowledge of portfolio management best practices and procedures
Skills
- Skills and proficiency in computer programs, i.e. Microsoft Office Suite, Excel
Abilities
- Ability to be an effective supervisor and/or trainer.
- Ability to communicate both in writing and verbally.
- Ability to work well with others.
