Director of Talent Acquisition & Total Rewards, Biotechnology
Summary
Our client is a pioneering Oncology-focused biotech company. The Director of Talent Acquisition & Total Rewards will report to the VP of HR and is responsible for driving and executing the enterprise-wide talent acquisition and total rewards strategies, with a specific focus on partnering with the VP of HR on recruiting, compensation, DEI, and total rewards strategies. Additionally, this role will oversee all tactical aspects of talent acquisition, including driving the recruiting process, recruiting for roles, and tracking/reporting progress. Reporting directly to the VP of HR and as a hybrid aspect of this role, they will also serve as the Senior HR Business Partner to the Commercial Operations, Sales, and Marketing team led by the company President and COO. The ideal candidate will possess a strong blend of strategic vision, operational/commercial expertise, and hands-on HR experience combined with a high level of EQ and capabilities to seamlessly transition across the various HR domains.
Duties / Expectations of Role
• Talent Acquisition (50%):
o Partnering with the VP of HR, to develop and implement comprehensive talent acquisition strategies aligned with organizational goals and growth objectives.
o Partner with leadership across the organization to forecast talent needs, succession planning, and workforce planning initiatives.
o Working with the HR team, lead the design and execution of recruitment processes, including sourcing, selection, onboarding, and employer branding activities.
o Drive the recruiting process for roles across the company and within the Commercial Operations, Sales, and Marketing team, ensuring timely and efficient hiring.
o Monitor, track, and report progress on recruitment KPIs/activities, including candidate pipelines, time-to-fill metrics, and quality of hires.
o Oversee, track, and educate the workforce and leadership on DEI principles and application to ensure we maintain a diverse and robust talent pool.
• Total Rewards (20%):
o Partner with the VP of HR to develop and execute compensation and total rewards strategies that support the organization's objectives.
o Oversee the design, implementation, and administration of competitive compensation and best in class benefits programs.
o Conduct benchmarking analyses to ensure market competitiveness and alignment with industry trends and best practices.
o Maintain the Job Leveling structure and effective utilization/application across the company.
o Collaborate with finance and HR leadership to manage budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis related to total rewards/benefits programs.
• Senior HR Business Partner (30%):
o Serve as a strategic HR business partner to the Commercial Operations, Sales, and Marketing team, providing comprehensive consultative support on organizational development, talent management, and employee relations.
o Partner closely with the President & COO, and other business leaders to understand their objectives, challenges, and talent needs, and provide proactive HR solutions and recommendations.
o Facilitate performance management processes, including goal setting, performance evaluations, and development planning, to drive employee engagement and performance excellence.
o Leadership and Collaboration:
o Able to Foster a values-based culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
o Collaborate cross-functionally with other HR team members and department heads to drive HR initiatives, projects, and strategic priorities.
o Represent the HR function in leadership meetings, making presentations, and even external forums, articulating the value proposition of HR programs and initiatives.
Mandatory Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field
· Twelve (12) years of progressive HR experience, with a focus on talent acquisition, total rewards, and HR business partnering.
· Prior experience in a leadership role overseeing talent acquisition and/or total rewards functions in a complex fast moving organizational environment.
· Strong knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws, and regulatory requirements related to talent acquisition, compensation, and benefits.
· Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic HR initiatives that drive business results and enhance organizational effectiveness.
· Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop a diverse team of leaders and employees.
Preferred Requirements
· Master’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field
· HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR)
· Experience in the biotech industry with a strong talent network.
· Experience in oncology and/or immunotherapy
· Commercial build out experience
· Experience working for a public company.
