Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Sign Language Interpreter to provide virtual support for an elementary student during the 2024-2025 school year. This full-time role offers a competitive pay rate and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on a student's educational journey.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide one-on-one sign language interpretation for an elementary student in a virtual learning environment.
Facilitate clear communication between the student, teachers, and peers using American Sign Language (ASL).
Ensure all educational materials and classroom discussions are accessible to the student.
Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards in all educational settings.
Collaborate with educators to enhance the student's learning and development.
Attend Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and contribute to assessments of student progress as needed.

Qualifications:

EIPA score of 4.0 or higher.
Previous experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in school settings is required.
Strong preference will be given to candidates with prior virtual interpreting experience.
Must have successfully passed the written test for sign language interpretation.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a virtual environment.
Please note that this is a 1099 position, and candidates will need to obtain General Liability Insurance for their virtual workspace.
