Job Summary

The Events Specialist will support the Sales and Marketing teams when it comes to sales administration, marketing event planning and our technician training program. This position will assist the sales team in servicing customer relationships, coordinating sales-related activities, planning sales and marketing related events, as well as other duties and responsibilities as required. The ideal candidate will be a resourceful problem-solver, have excellent interpersonal skills, and be a team player. This role will provide the selected candidate with exposure to and partnership with the Sales and Marketing organizations within Dorman.

Primary Duties

  • Assist with customer and industry trade show preparation and shipments including material planning, securing product and all necessary collateral required to execute 
  • Manage logistics for customer visits to company headquarters and sites, tracking customer visit calendar
  • Assist with training events through the Dorman Training Center. Support planning and on-site logistics as needed.
  • Create sales merchandise support including company store and special promotional requests 
  • Ensure timely response to customer specific event related requests
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, Adobe Creative Suite preferred
    • MS Outlook experience with calendar and meeting scheduling
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
    • Warehouse and office setting will be the primary space to house inventory and store materials for events
  • Willingness to work extra hours when needed to get the job done
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and with team members; will need to exercise critical thinking and time management skills
  • Excellent team development and leadership skills
  • Plan, organize, and prioritize as needed
  • Physical Requirement: Capability to lift 40 pounds. 
  • Working Conditions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to reach, swivel, carry items from one building to another, and speak and actively listen. Noise level is usually moderate. Must be able to walk and use stairs as needed.

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • 1+ years of experience with marketing projects, event planning, or similar type of coordinating
