The Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) F-35 IT program support contract provides knowledge-based, information assurance and cybersecurity IT services to the F-35 Lightning II Joint Program Office (JPO). Our services include program management, enterprise performance management, enterprise architecture, implementation of emerging capabilities and requirements, life cycle management, operations & maintenance, enterprise data management, service desk support and IT training.

HOW OUR TECHNICAL WRITER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
  • Preparing, reviewing, revising, and maintaining technical documents including software and systems engineering, system operations, testing, user documentation, etc.
  • Writing and editing technical documentation for project hardware and software requirements to include installation, configuration, and how-to documentation.
  • Producing implementation guides and end-user guides for capabilities; providing field, data definition, and data flow documentation and formatting technical publications from pamphlets, technical drawings, and consultations with technical personnel and other available resources.
  • Standardizing documentation by creating and implementing templates for all document types.
  • Providing technical writing support to document all Infrastructure Services deliverables, functions, processes, and accreditation efforts.
  • Maintaining document library to enable ease of document storage, retrieval, updates, and reviews.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED (Required):
  • Security Clearance Level: Active Secret
  • Required Experience: 5 years of experience in Technical Writing
  • Education: Bachelors Degree in related field OR additional work experience can be considered in lieu of degree
  • Required certifications: ITIL Foundation ( or obtain within 3 months of start date)
  • Required Skills:
  • Proven skill at writing technical descriptions on the functionality of custom network infrastructure designs and server systems in such a way that they make sense to the lay reader and can be used by network systems implementers in an enterprise network environment.
  • Proven ability to organize and, as needed, edit materials produced by a Subject Matter Expert or network engineer, with significant abilities in communicating with Subject Matter Experts and engineers.
  • Experience with MS Word, MS Visio, MS PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat Pro.
  • Experience with developing system documentation and network infrastructures. Proven ability to prioritize tasks effectively, work with minimal supervision, meet deadlines and produce quality work on multiple simultaneous projects.
  • Experience with DoD Policy / Regulation writing, and formatting.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, project, content and time management skills.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and a disciplined self-starter.
  • Able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Location: Hybrid - onsite in Arlington, VA and Remote.

The likely salary range for this position is $76,690 - $92,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
