SUMMARY

The Language Tutor will provide tailored language instruction to international players and staff who speak various languages. The primary goal will be to enhance their English proficiency in speaking, listening, reading, and writing, enabling effective communication on and off the field.

Applicants must have availability to teach 2-hour afternoon sessions up to 4 days a week. May be needed for more depending on team schedule. Sessions will be held in person at the Zions Bank Real Academy in Herriman, UT. 

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: 

• Develops and implements personalized lesson plans that cater to the diverse linguistic backgrounds of the players.
• Teaches essential English skills, including vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, and conversational skills, with a focus on sports terminology.
• Creates a supportive and engaging learning environment that encourages participation and confidence.
• Assesses players’ language proficiency and progress regularly, adjusting teaching methods as needed.
• Collaborates with coaching staff to integrate language learning with on-field communication and teamwork.
• Provides resources and materials that are relevant to the players' daily lives and soccer experiences.
• Fosters an understanding of cultural nuances and communication styles that enhance team cohesion.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, Linguistics, or a related field  
• Proven experience teaching English to non-native speakers, ideally in a multicultural context.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Able to commute to the Zions Bank Real Academy in Herriman, UT.
• Able to pass a background check.
• Knowledge of soccer terminology and the dynamics of a sports team is a plus.
• Flexibility to work around players' training schedules.

PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS: 

• TEFL/TESOL certification preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT :

The job requires regularly lifting/pushing up to 10 pounds and occasionally lifting/pushing more than 50 pounds or exerting heavy force, in a wide disparity or environmental conditions. The job involves standing, stooping, bending, lifting, pushing, typing, etc.
