The City of Berkeley invites you to apply for the position of Library Assistant at the Berkeley Public Library! In this role, you would have the opportunity to assist with the opening and closing procedures of the library, creating displays, shelving materials, shelf reading, assisting patrons with digital library resources and databases, additional customer service skills, engaging with the community in a friendly library setting and provide support with library events and outreach, and opportunities to work on system-wide work groups. See the full job class specification here: Class Specifications | Library Assistant | Class Spec Details MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS A typical way of gaining the knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position is equivalent to graduation from high school and 780 hours of experience involving public information and office support duties in a library setting.
