Job Description

IGT is seeking a senior-level electronic test engineer who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. As a Manufacturing Test Engineer within the IGT Test Engineering Group, you will oversee the test, evaluation, and development of equipment used in both internal manufacturing and external contract manufacturing for IGT products. Collaborating closely with our Design Engineering teams, you will provide test solutions that support cost, quality, and NPI success. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in system-level assembly and sub-assembly test design, development, and deployment.

In this role, you will lead the design, implementation, and support of manufacturing test engineering solutions that drive continuous improvement in process efficiency, effectiveness, and quality. You will ensure that components and assembled products meet IGT’s standards and objectives, focusing on advancements in test detection, error proofing, and diagnostic automation. Your responsibilities will include developing and deploying test fixtures and processes to ensure the testability, functionality, and manufacturability of products at the system level.

  • Ensure components and assembled products meet company standards, requirements, and objectives.
  • Design, develop, and deploy test fixtures and processes for internal and external customers, ensuring testability, functionality, and manufacturability of PCBA, electronic components, and assemblies at the system level.
  • Achieve quality standards for delivered products.
  • Provide senior-level support for NPI (new product introduction), designing effective test methods for system-level electronic assemblies.
  • Review and provide design input, ensuring smooth integration of new products into production and meeting test requirements.
  • Act as the senior point of contact for vendor/contract manufacturer testing, improving raw material/component quality through system-level test designs.
  • Collaborate with internal and external QE/QA teams and TE line technicians to uphold quality standards and identify future test coverage improvements.
  • Lead technical support for global manufacturing operations, including maintenance, equipment replacement, and installation of software duplication, assembly lines, and PND systems.
  • Work with internal software engineering and automation teams to improve machine test diagnostic automation and self-test capabilities.
  • Contribute to departmental standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Create, evaluate, and write test requirements and documentation.
  • Compile data and recommend changes to testing equipment, procedures, and manufacturing processes.
  • Provide input on purchasing decisions for test equipment.

Qualifications

  • BS in electrical, electronic, or test engineering or related technical discipline.
  • 5 years in a test engineering or related engineering experience.
  • Senior level experience in test process evaluation and development along with knowledge of DFT and DFM principles.
  • Working knowledge of LabVIEW, Mentor Graphics, DxDesign/PADS, or similar schematic capture and layout tools.
  • Familiarity with firmware development languages such as C++ or C#.
  • Accomplished in Microsoft Office and advanced ERP systems
  • Experience with contract manufacturers in the testing of PCBA/electronic assemblies.
  • Design of digital and analog circuits.
  • Knowledge of computer interface protocols.
  • Familiarity with software duplication manufacturing equipment and devices.  
  • Experience with software and firmware peripheral network download equipment and general process 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Arduino software and hardware.
  • Expertise with test instrumentation and fixtures. 
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
  • Experienced in SAP systems.
