Role Title: Network Security Engineer

We are seeking a Network Security Engineer to lead Proof of Concept (PoC) initiatives for firewall solutions, ensuring alignment with business and security requirements . The role involves evaluating firewall vendors , setting up PoC labs , testing security policies, and mapping compliance requirements .
Key Responsibilities: PoC Design & Implementation:Define PoC objectives and scope based on security and compliance needs (e.g., ISO 27001, GDPR, NIST, PCI DSS ).
Identify key use cases , including perimeter security, threat detection, Zero Trust, and VPN .
Select evaluation criteria aligned with business security requirements.
Assess and compare firewall vendors based on security performance.
Deploy virtualized firewalls using VMware, VirtualBox, or cloud environments .
Simulate network traffic using tools like Wireshark and iPerf .
Conduct penetration testing using Kali Linux, Nmap, and Metasploit .
Develop a test plan with PoC objectives, test cases, and success criteria.
Conduct benchmarking & performance testing of firewall solutions.
Perform risk analysis and compliance mapping to ensure regulatory alignment.
Map firewall features to security needs and ensure optimal configurations.
Engage with vendors for demo licenses and PoC environment setups.
Present findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders .
Strong understanding of firewall technologies , including stateful, stateless, NGFW, proxy, and WAF firewalls .
Expertise in firewall rules & policies , security zones, and ACL configuration .
Hands-on experience with VPN setup (Site-to-Site, Remote Access using IPSec/SSL).
Proficiency in firewall policy management tools (e.g., AlgoSec, Tufin ).
Experience with Palo Alto, Fortinet, Check Point, Cisco ASA, Sophos, and Juniper firewalls .
Familiarity with SIEM tools for log analysis and event correlation .
Knowledge of Proxy, DLP, IPS/IDS .
Strong understanding of TCP/IP protocol suites .
