Title: Producer, Originals - Basketball

Reporting to: Executive Producer

Classification: Full-time

Location: Hybrid in Santa Monica, CA or New York, NY 

Compensation: $90,000 - $110,000 annual base

Wave Sports + Entertainment is seeking a Producer to join the WSE Original Content Team .  We are seeking a Producer to lead episode production of podcasts and digital series across our network of brands, with a focus on football and basketball. The ideal candidate will have a track record of producing standout talk-show original sports content, programming YouTube channels and podcast RSS feeds,  and collaborating with top on-air talent. They’ll also have a strong understanding of social platforms and related audience preferences, and a passion for sports and storytelling.  

 

Responsibilities

• Lead the episodic creative and operational production of sports-centric talk shows
• Work with EP/ showrunner to craft show’s unique tone of voice and creative outline   
• Produce high-profile talent including professional athletes and established creators  
• Lead content ideation, pre-show research, and create show rundowns
• Collaborate with sales team to manage and produce ad reads 
• Draft editorial and promotional copy for each episode 
• Program YouTube and Podcast channels for digital series on a daily basis  
• Collaborate with associate producers and video editors to meet deadlines and create content that upholds the WSE voice and editorial standards

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years producing compelling digital content and talk-based longform shows  
• A highly creative storyteller. Able to write, produce, manage and execute projects from start to finish in a fast-paced newsroom environment 
• Proactive, with the ability to anticipate obstacles and problem solve under pressure
• Strong experience organizing production workflows, assets and talent schedules
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
• Strong understanding of digital media trends and how audiences consume content across platforms
• Highly skilled in managing multiple projects and priorities

This role is a full-time position with a base salary range of $90,000 - $110,000 / year, and may be eligible for an annual bonus and equity. Actual salary at the time of offer may vary based on multiple factors, including an individual's experience level and qualifications. Physical Requirements + Work Environment

• Capacity to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery and hardware.
• The ability to communicate and exchange information clearly and accurately. 
• Work is sedentary and involves sitting for the majority of work hours.
• Able to work full-time M-F and nights and weekends as needed.
• The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions and work is performed in a business office environment.
• The worker may be exposed to variable lighting conditions (brightness or darkness) and noise during production when in the office.
