Sr. Financial Analyst
Immediate opportunity for a Financial Analyst! The selected candidate will oversee various financial functions such as budgeting, auditing, forecasting and analysis for our customer, a large Healthcare Insurance provider in the Maryland area. The selected candidate will provide financial support to the business, including but not limited to cost accounting, revenue recognition, subcontractor financial management, At Risk coordination, forecasting and EAC development, variance analysis, invoice preparation/review and cash flow management (to include timely unbilled analysis/reconciliations). Interfaces regularly with project managers, account managers and business area directors. Supports large and/or complex projects.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
--25% Plans and produces various financial reports. Analyzes trends, calculates and verifies data. Interfaces with other areas to develop reporting specifications, methods and procedures, and prioritizes requests.
--25% Develops, coordinates, analyzes and verifies data and financial reports to produce the financial Plan for all areas of the Company. Creates and manages a database for Plan reporting. Develops specifications needed to generate statistics, develops methods and procedures for calculating data and presenting results.
--25% Responds to manager, director, and executive inquiries, handles special requests, researches complex accounting issues. Communicate with corporate management on accounting/financial processes and regulatory requirements. Prepare financial data for presentation to upper management.
-- 25% Coordinates, reviews and analyzes major financial report submissions to ensure corporate compliance with applicable regulations, laws or guidelines. Gathers, compiles and interprets information collected through financial analyses in order to identify trends and provide insight for decision making.

Required Skills
- Education Level: Bachelors Degree in finance, accounting or similar
- Experience: 5 years Experience in a finance, accounting or an analytical role within finance sector or quantitative analysis.
-General financial / accounting abilities including: Month end closing, variances, large journal entries, budget, financial reporting, variance analysis, budget analysis, reconciliation, understanding of financial statements, reporting balance sheets, P&L, Budgetary duties.
-Coming from a larger organization with large dollar amounts (500K to 2M) / financial data sets
- Oracle E-Business Suite Financials = BIG PLUS
-Advanced MS Excel skills (v-look up, power pivots, complex formulas) = Required
- Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking and the analysis and reporting of financial data
-Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
Preferred:
- CPA or MBA
-Healthcare insurance industry experience strongly preferred.
-Proficient with financial analysis software (i.e., Delphi Technology, Longview)
