Pharmacy Technicians, under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, assist in the various activities of the pharmacy department. Pharmacy Technicians assist the pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining the drug inventory and maintenance of records. Pharmacy Technicians function in accordance with standard written procedures, guidelines and state and federal regulations. They do not perform duties that can legally be performed only by a registered pharmacist.

QualificationsAt least 1-3 years hospital experience preferred. Pyxis experience with knowledge of Pixis Reports (i.e., optimization, load/unload, nursing narcotic access, etc.)
Licensure, Certification, Registration, etc.: Registered and Certified by the Texas Pharmacy Technician Certification Board.
Education: High School Graduate or equivalent. 1-2 years college/associate’s degree preferred.
